Tami Carter has worked as a lifeguard, English teacher, stock broker’s assistant, managing editor, marketing executive, and conference producer. Born and raised in West Virginia, she moved to San Francisco during the dot-com boom after getting her second master’s in creative writing at Louisiana State University. Despite no plan and no job prospects, she survived and now lives in a house decorated in early-used-bookshop with her husband, two kids, and two cats. When the pandemic struck, Tami decided to finally put her MFA to use and finish the book she’d started when she should have been writing marketing copy 13 years before. Now on draft number three, she hopes to be querying soon, and on to book two.
